I do not think this is responsible. If a driverless car causes an accident, who gets the ticket? If a driverless car mistakes a person for any inanimate object and hits them, how can that pedestrian stop the car and ensure whoever is liable for the traffic crimes that car commits is held accountable? Especially if the person is rendered unconscious or even killed?! This type of technology should be treated like a train given walled-off lanes to drive on where it is not going to put pedestrians or other drivers in danger for a machine that is impossible to hold accountable in the same ways human drivers can be held accountable. These vehicles being allowed to drive around on public streets is proof that special interest groups have influenced our legislators to the point of, not only passing laws that aren't in their constituent's best interests, but actually endangers their lives. I am terrified that this supreme court will hear the first Automated Vehicle murder trial against a giant corporation like Tesla, and that because they are completely corrupted and own stock shares in these big tech companies, they will side with their portfolios rather than the people. This is so dystopian!
