I think this guy hasn't just been _drinking the Kool-Aid,_ he's been guzzling it while mainlining some in an IV.
Will AI do incredible things? Probably/maybe. Will it be worth the tens of *trillions* of dollars that will be sucked into it the coming years? I can't imagine it will. Will people realize they fell for so much BS and give up on it forever? Maybe not, but I believe it'll be somewhat like the 'Dot Com' follies, when people _finally_ realized having a website with a catchy URL probably wasn't worth hundreds of millions of dollars, if it didn't have a solid product or service. *Pets com* raised a total of $192.5 million. It raised $82.5 million in its 2000 IPO but went bankrupt just nine months later due to an unsustainable business model and high logistics costs. For the younger people out there, in the year 2,000, $192.5 million was still a bit of money. Today it would probably be $192.5 *BILLION,* and the higher the ridiculous valuation, the more people would fall for it.
More recently, 'WeWork' was valued at $47 billion in 2019, but collapsed to $2.9 billion in 2021. Yes, COVID had something to do with it, but the single biggest problem was the nutty co-founder, Adam Neumann. SoftBank alone lost some $25 billion, but Newmann left a very wealthy man. It's a very interesting story and at least one YouTube channel did an excellent documentary on it.
