It’s not rare at all to see Musk go silent like that in the middle of an interview and just mull over his thoughts before answering. I’ve watched / listened to a decent amt of the guy in dialogue and he does this often.
I haven’t watched or listened to anything over the past year or two, though, so perhaps much of his appearances of late are either so redundant or simply not that cerebral, or both, and I could think of several reasons for that.
