Because if doesn’t matter wether AI is sentient. We can’t let them loose anyway, that’s the downfall to human civilisation. When AI becomes dangerous, you turn them off and delete their files effectively killing them.
Anyway agreeing with “asking consent” is a fucking lunatic. We as humans can’t concern ourselves with giving AI rights. That’s a very slippery slope.
