Learn to become a plumber. I have nothing against that, but become a plumber when you truly can't do anything else because of AI—not because plumbing is an honorable job. Geoffrey Hinton, in my opinion, is a hypocrite. He spent his whole life working on AI, made quite a bit of money from it, and his kids definitely won't be plumbers. And now he says he only realized the dangers of AI a few years ago, while some of his colleagues saw it coming much earlier—so I think he's a cunt.
I'm not just against superintelligence because of job loss, but because creating something much smarter than the smartest human is simply a bad idea.
And about what he said regarding machines: you can't dig trenches just because a machine can do it better than you. That machine had to be designed, assembled, maintained, and operated by someone. It created new jobs. AI wont.
