As a trucker for the last 26 years, I always hated the idea of automated trucks. Not so much about the loss of my career, but for the safety aspect. However, in the last 10 years or so the quality of CDL holders has diminished so much, I don't feel safe driving beside them any more. At this point, I'm feel automated trucks would be just as safe of not safer than a flip flop wearing, video watching, unskilled steeringwheel holder.
