Painting and drawing are 2 different mediums. AI art is just another medium, and it actually does take skill to use properly. It will be more evident in the future as it becomes more developed.
Copyrighting it is a bit of a fine line at the moment, but regardless, you need to understand that in the future there will be jobs for this and it will be an actual profession for people to make a living off.
