I am a deeply unartistic person, i tried so very hard when younger but it just ended up hurting my self confidence. I find AI imaging to be SO USEFUL for me, because i need specific weird fringe images for my D&D games online. I simply cannot draw myself, nor afford to pay an artist to make something for my hobby.
I completely understand the problems with AI art though... trying to generate an image in a specific persons style is just awful but of real people is horrendous. I hope at some point we can get a happy medium where "generic" art is creatable by these programs, but anything centered on the art or likeness of a real person is prohibited by the engine. I think as with any technology or media that we have created throughout history, the problem is almost never with the new invention but with those who wield it without concern for any damage they do.
