I wouldn't say I'm disabled, but I'm only a step away from losing the ability to write (let alone craft or sketch). I have carpal tunnel. My hands shake constantly. And it's not unusual for my fingers to lock in place until I manually roll them back into being able to move. I have been told on numerous occasions that I should find an occupation that does not require the use of my hands. Because clearly, they don't work the way hands should. That said, I would never stoop to using ai. Even though it is painful at times to create music, write, sew, etc... it is euphoric, getting past the pain and being able to say, "I made this." So my thoughts on ai art as a tool for disabled artists? Of course it will vary from artist to artist... but I don't see it as the accessibility tool it is being proposed to be. Besides, if I ever get to the point that I can't create... then that was my run. If I'm not able to create the art myself, then I don't want ai to make it for me. Because that's not my work.
