There are real artists who use gen AI, for disability and other reasons. In the Suno forum on Reddit, singers have commented that they've used Suno to keep producing music with their voices past the point where they had developed nodules and couldn't do so anymore. Another guy was still able to sing, but hadn't had a full band to play with in a few years, and used Suno to transform his voice and guitar playing into a full song.
There are also people on that forum that insist they're "musicians," even though they have never chosen a note or a chord. So, it's not all great. Many people on there want the status of calling themselves musicians when what they're doing bears no resemblance to creating melodies or rhythms, nor performing them. If you can't do either of those things, I don't see how you're a musician.
NFTs are not a good comparison with AI. They were a solution to a problem that never existed, for which there was little demand. AI provides solutions to problems that people will pay real money to solve. There's money and traction behind it that NFTs and "web 3" will never find because they are inherently useless to the vast majority of people.
