'AI' today for white collars like automated assembly lanes were for blue collars. It does definitely change the structure of the game but it is very normal that technology changes processes and shifts capabilities. But this all is a linear projection and there is no guarantee that it really works. Yes, the 'golden age' of IT when everyone got a job (and the better engineers were busy with fixing the bad decisions of bad programmers) is getting over - and it is a welcomed change in the IT landscape at least for me. And as in every change - adjustments come at a price but adjustments happen. Unfortunately (or not) this happens at the time of an economic crash and geopolitical tension that adds a lot of economic element to the picture. Although similar happened during WWI-II regarding industry so, maybe these walk hand in hand for some reason. Anyway, some major companies communicate layoffs because of AI technology (while it is simply due to their performance, but that would not be nice to say). So, the noise is huge. Yes, there are methods for non-centralized decision making that can be modeled (even without AI) - but are organizations ready for that? And again, it is not a technological, more a social aspect. Technology will not change anything unless put to use in its full potential and that lays out of technology domain. The knowledge barriers are there and technology is used by humans. So.... Nice mind game but... that is all.
