You know to concept of a ‘pleasure cube’? A hypothetical future where everybody just sits in little boxes getting fed only positive emotions, only the happy chemicals in their brains. I saw I really interesting video comparing tiktok to a pleasure cube, but the same basic idea applies to AI art very well too. Making art is sometimes a rollercoaster of emotions, you think you’ve ruined it and you feel upset, you find a silver lining and the creation is better in the end. Ai art does NOTHING like that, you type something a few times, pick out the best result and then the happy chemicals swirl around your head unjustly because you pressed a button. I’ll still use DALL E mini and stuff, it’s still impressive and at times funny, but I will make sure to NEVER claim it as something I made.
