Come on, 99% unemployment by 2030 is more sci-fi than reality. Technology never rolls out that fast — even electricity and the internet took decades to transform everything. AI still has huge limitations, it breaks, hallucinates, and can’t handle physical work or true human judgment. People still prefer humans in roles where trust, empathy, and accountability matter, and let’s not forget that every big wave of automation in history has ended up creating new industries and jobs we couldn’t imagine at the start. On top of that, the real world has bottlenecks like energy, hardware, law, and regulation that will slow things down, plus governments won’t just sit back and let society collapse. Sure, AI will shake things up massively, but the idea that almost everyone will be out of work in just five years is unrealistic — the future will be disruptive, but it’ll also be gradual and full of strange new opportunities we don’t see yet.
