We should address the elephant in the room : AI has already huge economic and cultural impact. Yet Big Tech answers to no one. I like how Karen Hao puts it in her book: collective democratic resistance is possible: organize, regulate, challenge non-consensual data extraction, protect workers and communities, and make AI answer to the public rather than to a handful of firms.
