Whenever the question about intelligence comes up, always ask what is YOUR definition of intelligence.
For AI, it means an actor that makes decisions with a high likelihood of maximizing its utility. That's it. That's intelligence. So "is it intelligence?" Yeah definitely, in the computer science space. Anything more than that is just marketing and philosophy.
