Great job Sam! This is a great and concise summary of the topic and issue. This seem to be getting more and more out of hand. At first I thought there might be some use for A.I. as a tool for inspiration for those of us who actually put the time in to develop our skills but now I’m moving towards throwing the baby out with the bath water when I see the comments of the developers and non artists who use these A.I. art engines. Sadly I’m convinced that this mindset has been born out of the entitlement movement, that everyone deserves everything regardless of talent, effort and skill. I’d like to think that if you asked the average person what they thought about someone who has used ai to analyze the ability and style of the top 5 pianists then ask the ai to write songs of certain lengths, emotion and theme then sat in front of a piano pushed play and then moved their fingers randomly on the keys and called themselves a pianist and song writer, the average person would say it was appalling at worst and ludicrous at best and say no if asked whether they would pay to watch the self proclaimed artist put on a concert or buy their music. I don’t know why this seems so different for people when it comes to painting, drawing, photography etc.?
