I think the answer to the question whether AI should have rights or not is explained very well in the first half of the video. I argued some time back with people in the comments about this and I reached the same conclusion just Kurzgesagt managed to formulate it's better. I think it doesn't matter whether AI conscious bc the key point is its ability to feel pain or rather lack of it. AI isn't alive so it shouldn't have any rights. Unless AI is built from organic material that is able to notice the touch from the physical world and experience "pain" and has a conscious mind maybe then it's will be a question. Though even still it won't be deserving of rights bc it's hard to describe pain to be able to program AI to feel it. What is pain? "an unpleasant feeling that you'd rather not feel that stops you from doing something that led to it"? Yes but it's still very shallow of description. Hunger or itching pretty much also fits this description. But these are not pain. So unless we can define exactly that AI feels pain the way we do, we shouldn't give it rights. It doesn't deserve it. I think we should think more about how to give all humans on Earth equal rights than thinking about machines🥴
