While I agree that he shouldn't be able to copyright, I guarantee that if a big corporation uses AI in their advertising and someone uses the image from that advertising for their own works, that they'd be hit with copyright for using it. I believe that there is a lot more AI used for general images from big corporations now-a-days. They shouldn't be able to copyright said work either.
