any developer (junior/senior) is doomed. it will be the survival of the fittest and we have to accept it. all optimist devs out there believing that AI won't take their jobs are just optimists and frankly, i think they haven't been playing with AI. ai is just getting better and better and faster. i've been playing with claude-code and i was able to create a working prototype of a complex stock order entry windows forms app within a day. it took me 4 sprints to even create my first prototype by hand. btw, these ai models are much much better in building web-based and mobile apps than legacy windows forms app and other xml-based ui frameworks like wpf. i think the only way for devs to survive is to not look for employment but start their own business/company and use AI, i.e.. build the ladder instead of climbing the ladder. jobs at the big techs and big banks are not glamorous as they say they are. start your own and use AI to accelerate your success. mic dropped!
