Think the general game plan most companies had on making money was to build a library system that worked off linguistic interpretation. We have a lot of publicly available information that is free, but if someone could get people into depending on a linguistic powered library system that can interpret questions and present answers, it lets those businesses make a lot of money AND gives them a lot of control over what information is publicly disseminated. It also eventually muddies the water over ownership of information since now someone could argue that the output is different from the input. It sounds stupid but that is the general plan with LLMs.
