No, science is not a religion. What is a religion is evolutionism saying that there is no intelligent Creator in the universe. It's a form of delusion to assume something that hasn't been fully proven. You could say that it's a form of faith to believe in such a thing. And in the same way, belief in an intelligent Creator has some things to be proven. But I think overwhelming the universe being intelligently ordered has more potential to be proven than not intelligent origins. So putting science as the opposite of religion is like putting two separate things that aren't related to each other together. Science is not an invention of man, but science is the result of the properties of the universe that has been created intelligently. And humans have understood bits of it. But the overall picture is still unclear and will take a long time to discover. Consciousness is native to humans and to some degree in animals. AI is incapable of truly being conscious as it simply simulates the perception of consciousness.
