I . . . don't really know how to feel about this meme of redrawing "AI art" just _because of_ its (lack of) copyright protection. All's fair in artistry and protest speech, sure, but it also feels like a certain kind of bullying ... as in "we're going to copy from this *BECAUSE* there's nothing you can do about it", or "doing the wrong thing for the right reasons."
Don't get me wrong: This is a _reactive_ effort, a direct response _to_ the use/abuse of AI images that "started it", but in the end one harm does not equal another.
Imagine if you could train an image generating model on only The Fundmentals (tm). Then there _would_ be a legitimate argument that the model is not "scraping" anything protectable by law, thus all responsibility for resemblance to protected works _must_ fall on the prompter, not the model. Granted, this is not how current models actually get trained -- largely because of how little oversight or curating there is over _what_ goes into the dataset, and whatever the training algorithm actually derives ("learns") from it. That is a problem unto itself!
