Yeah I use autopilot/FSD most of the time , 50 miles + a day. Some of this is true. No radar anymore, just the camera. It’s def not perfect like this guys is saying. But this is the first few years , with revisions it will get better and better. I can say the autopilot is much better than the average CA driver (not a fully attentive good drive) . However, so far autopilot is very good around motorcycles for me. Also This guy briefly mentioned studies and data which was good but then he stop talking about it. This topic deserves extensive review because you are not taking into account all of the lives auto pilot saved why not pulling out in front of a motorcycle or so. Sort of a survivors bias. We are just seeing the few cyclist who were rear ended by auto pilot. nobody is recording all the times auto pilot didn’t pull out in front of a motorcyclist or it stopped just in time or didn’t squeeze them while they were lane splitting. This is akin to saying a vaccine is bad because these few people had side effects without taking into account the mass amounts of people who didn’t become ill. How do you even account for all the cyclists that were not harmed by a human driver while using “autopilot “. I mean cool YouTube video and all but I have a feeling in several years this will not age that well. Any motorcyclist with half a brain will tell you they trust some imperfect robot better than the average human texting or drunk or sleepy or simply road raging . The logic of this video is essentially auto pilot sucks compared to the most perfectly attentive law abiding human driver. Like yeah absolutely true but this is real life and not fantasy world so even a shitty auto pilot will beat the average stupid human driver in the real world.
