I asked my AI coding agent today to give me ideas about how to fix the poor performance of a particular endpoint, twice in two separate conversations. It was not good. Told me that using dynamic typing was likely the biggest problem. When asked about the likely impact of that, it replied with about 10 microseconds (I believe this is about right) which is damn near 5 orders of magnitude less than the endpoints response time. It seemed to have a very poor sense of magnitude of various performance issues
