Plumbing etc does not always pay well. In the UK the influx of cheap labour meant that fees went down; many had to work for other companies and not for themselves. Also by 50 so many people in general have knee and hip problems. So cant do that physcial work like they used to. Another point is that its a 7 day a week job if you want to make money and work for yourself.
Even working for other means 6 day weeks sometimes.
@8:00 the thing with AI is its all prompts and programming. Its automation that doesnt require much human contact. In other words companies can bring in AI, automate a role and hire less people. LOok at self service tills. They just use less staff, these staff are already on 0 hours contracts that pay less and give them little rights, with no security.
AI can potentially do things faster, better than humans. It will create new jobs but not many imo.l
Its not all doom and gloom. Its hard to predict the future.
