This episode really resonated. I see many benefits in AI and even use some AI tools in my own musical process, but the current race toward AGI feels like it’s outrunning our ability to pause and think responsibly.
It often seems that those driving the AGI race aren’t incentivised to slow down, even when the long-term consequences are unclear. I explored this tension creatively in a song I wrote called “While We Still Can”, about the importance of people taking a stand early, before decisions become irreversible.
