I remember coming up with what I called the “greetocracy” when I was thinking about this.
Where the only jobs left are ones specifically made in order to put a human face in the store. Like a store greeter. Where they were the only ones left with any job because it’s the only job that by definition cannot be replace by an AI.
Meaning that CEO’s only had 6 employees per door per store at most
Obviously the economy collapses long before the 99.9% unemployment rate hits, but I was writing a comical dystopia. The greeters also were the exclusive patrons of artists, becauee this was written before I knew about AI art lol, so… gotta rework that if I ever come back to this
