Currently, none of the generative AI companies can make a profit. The infrastructure is incredibly expensive, and these companies are being subsidized by billions in government incentives and private investment. In some cases, we're using government money to SUBSIDIZE joblessness. It's ridiculous.
The advantage of the technology sector, is that you can build an app, lock in those expenses, then sell it forever at any price, knowing what you paid. You have no inventory, no costs, just 1s and 0s. This is not the case with AI tech, as it currently stands. You build your billions of dollars of infrastructure, then every time someone uses the app you pay for it.
It's a totally different business model, and I don't believe it works. Once we've finished burning through the next 800billion dollars in investors' money, where is the next 800 billion coming from?
