Look - its never going to become "sentient" because sentience implies that it's thinking for itself - it isnt, its thinking in a way that it's programmers programmed it to think. AI is a glorified script, a really massive one that people spent shitloads of time on - but that's all it is. then they slap it inside of a glorified car, and there you go. that's your "AI" and i'd still bet on a cat outthinking AI tbh.
