Having a job is NOT the priority or the goal, but rather having an income that exceeds your expenses. If driverless trucks reduce expenses, thereby reducing shipping costs, thereby reducing costs for consumers, then the real goal is being approached.
What really needs to be done though is not replace the people but to provide a better transport system for moving more goods faster.
