The problem here is that the genii is out of the bottle already. All of the major powers will be working on this. If the United States stopped we would just be road kill. It is like the race for nuclear weapons in World War 2. If the Nazi's had beat us then the world would be very different right now and not better. These projections about Super Intelligence may be over blown also. Chat GPT5 is not really that smart if you use it. It just can gather lots of information and process it for you. That may actually create more jobs.
