I am happy that ChatGPT came up when I was already in my master's, so it wasn't around for long enough that it incentivized me enough to think about using it to cheat. BUT ChatGPT has been extremely helpful explaining new topics or concepts to me in the past, which previously required annoying my teachers with lots of complex questions. I feel like ChatGPT is better at understanding my level of knowledge and explaining concepts in an understandable way than many teachers are. So it has been very useful in accelerating my learning.
This is especially true when learning from books or online texts. If a question pops up, I first need to find someone to ask the question and it takes time to do that and get an answer. Nowadays, I can pop the question right into ChatGPT and I feel like it makes less mistakes when explaining non-specialized topics than human teachers do.
