Teslas auto pilot is no different in functionality from the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping in virtually every new car made including gas cars. Tesla makes a point of telling the driver they must be alert at all times and ready to take over. The misconception is that the striving aid is somehow as smart or smarter than the driver but that claim is never been made.
So most cars made have something similar to Teslas auto pilot although I would say that teslas auto pilot is probably a lot better than most. Tesla also has what they call full self driving which is only sold in beta mode and can only be use once you pass a test and pay what is now around $12,000 to get that feature.
If we are not comparing the number of motorcyclist that got hit by other vehicles during the same period of time we are simply isolating a small data sset out of context. What if you were discover the Cadillacs for example 20 times more motorcycles during the same period? Should we then-say that Cadillacs should be banned? This does not appear to be a scientific evidence-based conversation.
