Having finished the video, I think there's some good points, there will definitely be changes in the future, but cancelling AI isn't going to work in the long term. I agree that monetization should be hampered, making AI art un-copyrightable is one good method, but stopping or slowing research and development won't help either side. To have a lasting effect we need to plan for a future where people continue to have a reason to make art and media, while also allowing AI to learn from masterworks that are relevant in the modern day.
I believe that using art for training isn't the problem, the problem was using tags to train the AI to respond to said tags. Would there be an uproar if you couldn't name an artists style to generate works? Maybe instead just showing it example art for the style, then naming the themes would have been better and harder to complain about.
