I mean going to a proper therapist beats some brainless AI, but for a quick pick-me-up or rant session who gives a damn if they store your data? What are they gonna do? Sell it along with all the other data they have on you? Let other people use the very generic responses which I garentee someone else has also gone through? What people should be concerned about when it comes to AI therapy is forming unhealthy parasocial relationships with a fictional person, falling into a loop where the AI doesn’t give constructive or helpful advice and only says things the person wants to hear, and people undermining real therapists who are good at their job (which can be seen in this comment section)
