I’d love to hear a conversation between famous neuroscientist Antonio Damasio and this guy.
My impressions is that Roman Yampolskiy has cognitive bias for duality of the mind. As if thinking and feeling wouldn’t be so integrated as to rule out their separation.
The irony here is that AI possibly presents an actual case where thinking and feeling very likely are seperate. In that sense, Yampolskiy’s misunderstanding serves him well. Because what would that even be? What is AI dopamine? How specifically is the property of intelligence emergent in AI? Can we even speak of AI as intelligent to begin with?
The animal’s ability to feel can certainly be faked, but I think AI can’t replace it.
