I don't think the full automation of these jobs is actually intrinsically a bad thing. Historically, every time automation took jobs, it ultimately led to life becoming easier for humans. Children no longer work in coal mines, farms produce much more food per land area, clothes are abundant and cheap for all, etc.
The problem is really just that the rate that this particular wave of automation will sweep over jobs is unprecedented, and capitalist societies are not ready yet for a posthuman-labour economy.
The end result will likely be a very painful transition period at best. Bernie's points at the end for certaintly be a great start to easing it.
