A.I will not replace their work, my uncle in law is a pathologist developing such tools for cancer recognition, I don't think he'd work on it if he thought it would replace his work, I think the work is simply going to evolve as time is freed up for less repetitive tasks, deeper research, leading to a an understanding boom.
