The comparison between ai and actual art tools pisses me off especially because I really truly believe that the limitations of a medium (and an artist) contribute so greatly to the development of style. Working within and pushing the limits of a medium is how we get stuff like The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) or Arcane or Coraline (2009). Not just in animation, but in everything from the masterpieces of old to stuff like modern jeans. Ai creates homogeneous, unremarkable slop. Art that isn’t worth the artists time isn’t worth mine either.
