THIS is the problem with AI. It's us. We are the problem with AI because we are incapable of either using AI for good or killing the people who want to use it for wrongdoing. Because we can't look at a human fucking being and say "you deserve to live" no strings attached. And it's SO easy to come up with a viable solution to the issue that even I can do it. Just make it so when someone's job gets replaced they keep being paid the wage of their old position until they get an equal or higher paying job, potentially subtracting maintenance costs of the ai that replaced them. If your job gets replaced it is permanent paid vacation, and if you wish to continue providing meaningful labor to society, which most people would like to do, then thats still an option! It's not "go fuck yourself and starve we don't need you anymore" it becomes "take as long as you need to find something else, we have you covered."
