The current incarnation of AI is not intelligent. Please stop saying this. It's a simulacrum of intelligence.
The reason these AI companies are saying these things is pure distraction from the very real problems AI is contributing to like disinformation.
It is a risk but because it is not that intelligent and is being given too much say in incredibly important decision+making.
