What about autonomous public transportation? Wouldn't that be an easier use case for AVs (buses & trams have set routes and stops, trams have tracks and in many cases buses also have separate lanes), and they are also of course more efficient as a traffic solution. So if you could theoretically operate it as a smaller cost per vehicle (if you eliminate or reduce the cost for the driver), then you could theoretically run more vehicles per route or increase the amount of routes. Are any cities considering this as an option?
