We can't put the genie back in the bottle, but we can at least put some heavy guardrails in place to stop these tech companies from going completely insane. Just like how HTML5 was a democratic-ish solution to the security risks of Adobe Flash, The government needs to make it possible to use AI tools where they benefit people, but prevent it from being used to hurt people.
