I'm not very artistically inclined. I don't have a natural eye for shapes or composition. These "born with the gift" comments are dumb, but it is true that some people take to these skills more easily than others. Some people are simply talented, but that also shouldn't discount the work they put into honing the skill BEYOND that talent. When I self published my novellas, I needed art for the covers, and I couldn't afford to commission an artist. AI presented the obvious solution, but I didn't want any of my work touched by it, so I designed the covers myself without help from AI. I'm not talented, and I don't have much skill from practice, but those simple emblems I designed should stand as proof that anyone CAN make art.
