Something I should point out having seen the current state of world leadership is that there will almost definitely be no universal income provided, just job loss. What will probably happen is any role requiring intelligence or creativity will be overtaken by AGI, with people left to compete for manual labour roles. There's already next to no work available so poverty will skyrocket and first world citizens will starve. Once robotics is perfected by AGI engineers then the manual labour will also be overrun. If AI keeps going the way it is, it will inadvertently kill off most of us, with only those with enough money or power to survive remaining. The upper class and especially the oligarchs like Musk (ESPECIALLY HIM) and Altman running these AI projects want the 99% eradicated.
