I don't think it's wrong for AI to steal art. At the same time, I understand that for the artists who have spent countless hours, years, decades to hone their skills, that this "effortless copying" would be entirely detrimental to their way of life. I doubt this technology is going to go away, and it'll probably only improve as time goes on. At the end of the day, I don't think we're really going to get anywhere by "fighting it". Change is inevitable, and things such as AI will only grow more prominent as we progress. A balance will be struck eventually, out of necessity. Because AI at the moment cannot replicate a human in truth. The countless biological imperfections that make us who we are are also what allows this kind of creativity in the first place. I'm sure at some point someone will make an AI close enough to human to replicate such things, but by that point, we'd probably be trying to modify ourselves to gain the same kind of accuracy. Art will become almost meaningless one day as we continue to progress. So personally, I'd say not to dwell on what could or couldn't happen, and just pour everything into how you want to live right now. Because nothing is permanent. Just do what you want.
