I really like this video, you did a great job of showing why artists dont like AI. I personally have experienced this phenomenon, that all interest in an Artwork just disappears the moment one learns it was made by AI because the beauty behind art is the creative intention behind the art not how good it looks(Especially because that is quite subjective). One thing i personally find hard to understand is why training AI on art uploaded on the internet for free(That its free to view is very important, art behind a paywall would be immoral without paying) is so unethical. I mean the AI is not copying the work of art(of anykind btw). It is beeing trained on it and it does not claim ownership of the orignal piece, in the same way it also does not distribute the original artwork since a trained AI model does not save the information of the dataset. An AI can theoretically make an exact copy of the original piece if that piece was the only data it was trained on. But if you showed a human a picture of something he has now concept of and he was able to perfectly memorize that picture, he would only draw that exact picture on beeing asked to draw that something without adding anything himself. So even if an artist does not intend on his artwork beeing used, in the moment he uploads it free to see he agrees if he wants to or not that other people look at it and take insperation. AI, as far as im concerned, does the same thing it learns what a generalisation of something looks like and makes something of that likeness. Like any human artist it does intend to copy but to learn. And i do think you can speak of intention when talking about AI, cuz the people intend the AI to make art that is as close to the promp as possible and that intent is carried over to the AI. The Reason i think it still feels different to art made by humans is that AI does not have creative intent, it only has the intent to get as close to what the user asked for in his promp but without creativity(Its hard to explain😑). So it would be nice to hear some opinions on this.
