Simple. Making AI to cut jobs and make the "labor" part cheaper. At first it is not cheap to develop, and most generative AI uses stolen (like literally stolen) data. And, at second - cutting jobs, no work- no paychecks, no paychecks - no money. So, someone wanna make products with bigger profit, but laying off people makes them not customers anymore. No work, no money, not a customer - who will buy these products and services??? Ok, someone will talk about "UBI" but it will require more taxes on businesses and destroy the main point - the profit. Really dead-end......................... I would be super happy to have "basic income" doing nothing, resting all day, and going shopping for AI powered production, but this does not work that way.
