I think that the middle of the pack developers with likely shift into lower level requirements gathering and definitions as well as more expensive QA roles. These positions already exist, but I feel that AI won't be able the do the fiber detail requirements any time soon and those that do the role now may or may not get better at it.
So far I've found that AI is pretty good at boilerplate code. It's almost capable of complex configurations. But I'm general really needs human confirmation. I don't think that need will go away soon.
I'm also curious as to how AI will refactor or rewrite entire modules as requirements are refined. Meaning that much more validation. A person tends to be cautious in refactor, AI may just replace huge portions as it advances.
It'll be interesting. I'll probably be doing more code reviews in the next decade.
