I have spent hours trying to use AI art generators, admittedly as a crutch for my lack of physical talent, but to aid my creative mind. But my observation is that it just isn't up to snuff. They are not "art" generators, they are "image" generators. In trying to create characters of my own fiction, even to a representative approximation, the task is simply impossible, even when these characters have traits pretty much entirely present in art I've seen elsewhere. Specifying "four arms" in my prompt has never yielded a four-armed character; in contrast, when not specifying, I sometimes get a three-armed/handed/legged character. If I specify "brown hair" and "blue eyes," for example, I'm liable to get results with both being brown, both being blue, and further yet, for that unrequested color preference to be spread into the character's outfit and the background. And that's not even to mention the mangled fingers, non-euclidean long hair when it becomes obstructed, or the siamese-twin merging of forearms when your prompt is to have two characters hugging. Want a character with a humble sword held in their right hand? You get an uninterpretable mess in the character's left hand, or sheathed in places that nobody has ever seriously kept their sword. Good luck with something mildly more complicated, like a rifle or an axe...
I've got a link to a 3 minute video here, where silly shenanigans fool a military AI, too:

I think the concept of AI is neat 'n all, and would benefit us with responsible use, but this kind of hubub when the tech is so astronomically far away, is absurd. A calculator surpasses man on a mathematical level only because that's what 100% of it's circuitry is built for, and it can't do anything else. Give a robot arm some eyes, hundreds of hours of training, and ask it to pull one part out pf a bin of jumbled parts, and you will routinely be disappointed. Something like that, you and I would consider a trivial task, and even because of how miniscule our strain is during such a task, we can simultaneously dispense or take in unrelated verbal information without impedance. It might just take AI another million years of evolution to catch up to us, so it bothers me that people act like it's the next big thing when it's plainly not. Unless you're in a line of work like gaming "journalism," you will probably keep your job because it is meaningful, and you produce meaningful work. Gaming "journalism" tends to be nonsensical drivel with no value anyway, so it may as well be automated by something incapable of writing anything sensible or valuable.
